The results from this retreat have been very good. Let us now raise a question to which many practitioners do not yet know the answer: Why do we practice Xiu Lian? For whom do we practice Xiu Lian?
We Practice for Ourselves, but Not Just Ourselves We do indeed practice Xiu Lian for ourselves. Not only does it improve our health, it also helps to increase our understanding of certain topics. There is an even more important reason to practice Xiu Lian though, that needs to be addressed. We are not just practicing for ourselves – this type of Xiu Lian would not succeed. We practice Xiu Lian while shouldering sacred missions, which represent Xiu Lian on higher levels.

Ladies and gentlemen, friends, I’d like to speak to you tonight about whether or not a person can change their fate. If you believe in fate at all, you probably also worry a bit about what yours could be and think about it often. What will my life be like? What am I destined for? Of course, there are many people who do not believe in karma or destiny, and are therefore unconcerned. They tend to believe that they can not only do whatever they please without any repercussions, but feel entitled to do so. Is it really true that we can just do whatever we want? This belief is one of the main reasons there are so many problems and crises in our world today. Therefore, tonight's topic is relevant and meaningful, not just in our personal lives, but also for our families and society. Commuting to work everyday, I take the subway downtown from my home in the south of Berlin. Taking the subway has advantages, not only does it save energy but you can watch people while you ride. It is like peering through a window; through it, we can see a microcosm of the society we live in.
Often, I saw people leaving work, with long faces and looking very tired. One day I saw a woman pushing a baby stroller with a lovely toddler inside. The toddler didn’t know how to speak yet but he was very curious. He was looking around at everyone, smiling and pointing. He even babbled and tried to talk to some of the passengers. Unfortunately, he didn’t get a response. These adults have worked for a long day, their faces are either saying they are very tired, or showing their depression, or they are unhappy with their colleagues, or their boss had an awful temper and said some bad things to them that day. Some of them might be worrying and thinking about how to deal with the troublesome things at home. That's right, everyone says life is not easy. However, even if the adults have one hundred reasons not to smile, they should not show a cold face at the little ones. If children are all growing up in this kind of environment, they may become depressed at a very young age. Ladies and gentlemen, friends, welcome! We are here today to discuss two important topics: where is the Earth heading and where is humanity going? There are probably no greater questions in the world today. However, before we begin our discussion, we must first understand what place the Earth holds in the Universe and what kind of life form a human being is in the context of the Universe.
When we talk about open heart in Chinese, many people relate that to happiness, harmony and joy. Actually, the real meaning of open heart is to open up your heart and mind. One has to open their heart and mind to attain happiness and joy. Everyone wishes to be happy, but not everyone can reach this state. There are many ways to attain happiness. Some people use wealth, but the happiness that they obtain through wealth is short-lived. If one gains wealth through improper or malignant means, their happiness will be accompanied by a restless state of mind, or a constant state of panic. Some people, such as celebrities, use fame and fortune to obtain happiness. This often causes extra stress and trouble for them. In the real world, ordinary people have more happiness than celebrities. Genuine happiness comes from our soul. With our hearts open and an understanding of Great Love, happiness comes through communication between humanity and the sacred Universe.
Once, I was totally lost, because I had never discovered my true self. In order to enlighten this lost sheep:
The Deities repeatedly gave me guidance, as I was mired in confusion. They awakened me, and helped me to find the way through my disarray;
The Deities repeatedly gave me physical suffering, to remind me that every day, there are many who live and struggle with unbearable pain;
The Deities repeatedly tested my spirit so I could learn to face either honor or disgrace;
The Deities repeatedly uplifted me with a supreme joyousness and great love, radiating from the depths of spirit through my heart to every cell in my body, giving me the unspeakably beautiful feeling of their presence, just knowing that the Deities are right here with me.
I knew my tiny soul was ordinary and humble, among the Deities' countless creations. Even so, when I made mistakes, in my painful despair and hopelessness, the Deities' loving and caring eyes never left me. Learn more ...
A Miracle: It Happened In A Moment

This story took place in April, 2006, during one of my soul repair classes in Munich. The practitioner’s name was Claudia, who was 40 years old. She had a disability in the leg for over 20 years. It was during this two-day class that she discovered her disability in this lifetime was caused by injuries from her previous lives. This became the prelude for her recovery. It was a poignant story; A miracle that happened as a result of a spiritual and physical integration. All the participants present were moved in notable astonishments.

In the early morning of Oct. 19th, 2006, I was inspired to write this article, with the help of the Deities, to record and share a few of my special experiences. I wanted to express my gratitude for receiving divine blessings for all these years, and hoped to inspire practitioners and friends. Throughout the history of mankind, countless seekers have searched for pathways to the Universe and the Deities. Religious people connect through their beliefs. Many others connect through practices like meditation, qi gong and yoga. Scientists expend huge resources looking for extra-terrestrials. Although it is said that all roads lead to Rome, how many travelers arrive successfully?

Everything in the Universe originates from yin and yang. The sun is yang, and the moon is yin; day is yang, and night is yin; hotness is yang, and coldness is yin; male is yang, and female is yin; physical body is yang, and soul is yin. Things that can be seen are called yang, and those that are invisible are called yin.
